Secretary's. HVT/FC/EK/145. 19th October, 1938. Mr. A.E. Boswell, 56, Westcotes, COVENTRY. Dear Mr. Boswell, I have opened your letter of the 13th instant addressed personally to Sir Walter Citrine. As you will probably know, Sir Walter is at present out of the country on business. I know, however, that before he went he wrote letters to different persons in the hope of being able to assist you. The position is, of course, that various funds and organisations have to observe strictly their rules and constitution, and no success has so far been met with. There is, however, one very important quarter in which the matter has been raised and by which the question is still being considered. I think it will be some time before any authoritative reply is received, but when it comes to hand I will communicate with you immediately. I am very sorry not to be in a position to send you a more favourable reply, but as I said I will communicate with you again in the event of my meeting with any success. Yours sincerely, Assistant Secretary.
