Description
Summary:034-0138-001 56 WESTCOTES COVENTRY SEPT 16TH 1938 Dear Sir Walter In answer to your letter of the 15th inst. we deeply appreciate your kindness on our behalf. Our boy Bruce was a member of the A.E.U. He was a very active member and played a large part in organising the apprentices in their fight for membership and recognition in Coventry last year. As a result of his activities in this connection he was more or less ostracised and found solace in offering, and giving his all to the cause he had so much at heart. He was never a member of the Communist Party that is why perhaps the Spanish Aid Committee cannot assist us. I had thought of writing to the Spanish Ambassador myself, but as you propose doing this I will stay my hand Yours repectfully A.E. Boswell 292/946/34/138
