UGT GENERAL WORKERS' UNION OF SPAIN Delegation in Great Britain ADDRESS : PADDINGTON TRADES COUNCIL, 494 HARROW ROAD. LONDON. W.9 The Secretary, Trade Union Congress, Transport House, Smith Square, SW1. at 11a, Dryburgh Gardens, The Hyde, NW.9 August 6th 1942 Dear Sir, The General Workers' Union of Spain is reorganising itself in this country more completely then has been possible before. It has recently created a Bureau of Information, in order to contact its members, some of whom, mainly owing to language difficulties, may require some assistance and protection. There are many trained men among our members who may not be at present used to the best advantage owing to the necessity of finding inmediate employment upon entry into this country. In the present shortage of manpower there is an urgent need for every man to return to the work for which he is most suited, and in which he can most help Britain's war production. The Spanish workers were among the first in the fight against Fascism, and are most anxious and willing to continue to play their part in this war. This is the first and most important problem we hope to solve and should be glad to contact and co-operate with our comrades in the British Trade Unions. We should be grateful for any assistance you find it possible to give, Yours sincerely Bernardo Ruiz, Secretary. Information Bureau. 93515
