Description
Summary:035-0084-001 MINUTE OF MEETING OF THE FINANCE AND GENERAL PURPOSES COMMITTEE. 21st February, 1944. 112. INTERNATIONAL BRIGADE ASSOCIATION. It was reported that correspondence had been received from the National Amalgamated Union of Life Assurance Workers regarding the appeal issued by the International Brigade Association for mutilated Brigade fighters who have been released from the Labour Camps of North Africa. The Union felt that, in view of the need for rehabilitation and the cost of limbs, a cause of this kind should, not be left to the International Brigade Association but should receive the full and official support of the Trade Union and Labour Movement. IT WAS AGREED to recommend that the Union be informed that the General Council decline to endorse the financial appeal of the International Brigade Association. 292/946/35/84
