HARROW TRADES COUNCIL President: T. Jones-Thomas 10, Salehurst Close, Kenton Hon. Gen. Sec.: Alma Sear 184a, Kenton Road, Kenton. 14th November, 1942. Dear Mr. Tewson, International Brigade Further to my letter of the 27th October last on the above question, my Council has again considered the position and feels that following the new offensive, a new situation has arisen with regard to some of these men. I am referring to those prisoners in Algiers who, we understand, are not to be released as the Vichy authorities still maintain civil control. We think that there is now every possibility of a settlement being reached which will bring about the release of these men and we would ask you to make representation to the Government accordingly. Yours fraternally, Alma Sear, Secretary. Mr. H. Tewson, The T.U.C., Transport House, Smith Square, S.W.1.
