Description
Summary:016b-0002-001 EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE MEETING DECEMBER 21, 1937. 22. SPANISH T.U.C. DISPUTE: I.F.T.U. MEETING. Report was read of I.F.T.U. Executive meeting (7-8 December, 1937, Paris) that heard representatives of the two groups of the Spanish T.U.C. After hearing both sides, it was proposed to send an I.F.T.U. delegation to Spain, with a view to finding a formula of conciliation, or, if this was not found possible, to make recommendations for the settlement of the dispute. These recommendations would then be submitted to both parties to the dispute for their consideration. This proposal had been agreed to. The Secretary reported that Léon Jouhaux was going to Spain on this question, and would arrive at Barcelona on 27 December. The Reports were NOTED. 292/946/16b/2
