Description
Summary:016b-0055-001 G.C. MINUTES 3rd September 1937 237. NATIONAL AMALGAMATED FURNISHING TRADES ASSOCIATION. EMERGENCY RESOLUTION. A letter dated 31st August, 1937, was read from the National Amalgamated Furnishing Trades Association, sending an emergency resolution for Congress condemning the wanton attack of Japan on China. IT WAS UNDERSTOOD that the Union would be informed of Council's position with regard to their resolution, namely that they supported the principle of it, but there were difficulties in the way of organising relief for China because of the competing claims of Spain and the lack of Trade Union contacts in China itself. 292/946/16b/60
