WMC/WJB/AC/574 International 18th March, 1937. Mr. W. Schevenels, International Federation of Trade Unions, 9, avenue d'Orsay, PARIS VIIe. Dear Comrade Schevenels, Children from Spain I should be much obliged if you would kindly tell me what has happened in regard to the care of the children who are being sent from Spain to France and Belgium. Has a special body been appointed to centralise this work, find what are the arrangements made with regard to the parents of the children? We are being asked here to adopt some such sort of method of help for our comrades in Spain, but before taking the matter into consideration, we would like to have some idea of how the arrangements are working in France and Belgium. There is a rumour that it is difficult to get the parents to send the children into another country. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, General Secretary.
