International. WMC/EAB/AT/1001. 16th June, 1939. Sr. Pascual Tomas, Diputado, rue du Taur 69, Toulouse, France. Dear Comrade Tomas, I am sure you will be glad to know that I have today received a letter from where I made enquiries informing me that your wife and three daughters have been located at 24 Barrio Obrero de Ramon de Castro, Valencia and that they are all very well. Your wife is receiving your letters, but would be glad to know whether you are receiving the ones which she is addressing to you at Toulouse, as apparently you have not made any mention of having received word from her. I will continue to endeavour to arrange for your wife and daughters to join you in France, but I cannot hold out much hope that this will be possible in the near future. As you will be aware, the Nationalist Authorities are placing very great restrictions on the movements of people in Spain, and it would be quite impossible to obtain passports for your family at this stage. I hope that you will gain some comfort from the information contained in this letter, and you can rest assured that we will do everything we can to effect a reunion between yourself and your family. With kind regards, Yours sincerely, General Secretary.
