SPANISH WORKERS' STRUGGLE International Brigade Fund To all Labour, Trade Union and Democratic Organisations. 16 King Street, W.C.2. Dear Friends, I beg to appeal to your organisation for a donation to help the British section of the International Brigade now fighting in Spain. The Brigade is composed of anti-fascist fighters from all over Europe — Socialist, Liberal and Communist — and has already rendered sterling service to the Spanish people. There are already 500 men in the British section of the Brigade, numbers of whom have dependents. We are maintaining their dependents from this fund, out of the donations already received. We have sent six ambulances to the Brigade together with X-ray apparatus, surgical instruments, anaesthetics, and 10,000 first aid packages. We have sent a special type of food kitchen costing £500. Two tons of pressed beef costing £120 have been sent. We are now undertaking to supply clothing for the Brigade, the British section of which is growing from day to day. We are sure that your organisation will agree that no more concrete aid could be given to Spain, than by enabling us to extend the aid we are giving to the Brigade from this fund. We have the utmost confidence therefore in asking your organisation to support the "International Brigade Fund." Yours fraternally, Harry Pollitt.
