Our Ref: HVT/FC/426. Your Ref: LW. 16th January, 1937. Mr. E. Winstanley, Export Department, The Co-operative Wholesale Society Ltd., 1, Balloon Street, MANCHESTER, 4. Dear Mr. Winstanley, GOODS FOR SPAIN. Many thanks for your letter of the 15th instant enclosing particulars of clearing lines which Mr. Thompson mentioned to me at our interview. The lines you enumerate are those of which we have sent considerable supplies in a former shipment, but I am making enquiries and should it be possible to take advantage of your offers I will write you as soon as possible. I am rather of the opinion, however, that the main requirements at present are for outer garments. Do not hold any of the lines specially for us, but I can assure you that if we decide to send further supplies of clothing we shall certainly make immediate contact with you to see what lines you have available. Yours sincerely, Assistant Secretary.
