Description
Summary:032-0106-001 International HVT/AC/120 10th February, 1939. Mr. W. Schevenels, International Federation of Trade Unions, 9, avenue d'Orsay, PARIS, VIIe. Dear Comrade Schevenels, FOOD FOR VALENCIA. We conveyed to Mr. Pole, of the Labour Spain Committee, the information which you gave us that three boats would be leaving Marseilles next week, on Monday, Thursday and Saturday respectively, with foodstuffs and other supplies for Valencia. Mr. Pole informed us that we could take it that a cheque to the value of £380 would be forthcoming from his Committee, and that you could add to one of the proposed consignments goods to that amount. I understand that the difficulty in releasing the money arises from the conditions under which it is banked with the C.W.S., 7 days' notice being required of withdrawal. Yours sincerely, Assistant Secretary. 292/946/32/106
