Tawney Sir Charles Trevelyan Dorothy Woodman Leonard Woolf November 18th. 1938 Mr. H.V. Tewson, Trades Union Congress, "Transport House", Smith Square, S.W.1. p.c. noted 21.11.38. Dear Mr. Tewson, Confirming our conversation of yesterday I have instructed the Co-operative Bank to pay you from our account the sum of £2,000 to be used immediately for sending food to Spain. As this money is on deposit account you will not receive it for a week, but I understand you will acknowledge this as soon as it is received. We should also be pleased if you could let us know when it can be considered that the consignment of food purchased with this money has reached Spain, so that we can announce this for the information of those who have subscribed to the fund. Yours sincerely, Austen Albu Hon. Treasurer. AHA/OHB
