Referring to your letter of the 26th instant in which you invite the National Council of Labour to appoint three representatives on to your Committee, this matter was fully considered by the National Council of Labour at their last meeting, when I was asked to inform you that it was unanimously decided that there could be no direct co-operation with the Committee on the lines suggested so long as members of the Communist Party were included in the personnel of the Committee. Your Committee will appreciate that decisions both of the Trades Union Congress and the Labour Party Conference determine policy in regard to this matter. Yours sincerely, Joint Secretary.
