Description
Summary:041-0173-001 SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE President: Dr. CHRISTOPHER ADDISON Chairman: Dr. H.B. MORGAN Treasurers: Viscountess HASTINGS Professor MARRACK Viscount CHURCHILL Hon. Secretary: Dr. CHARLES BROOK, L.C.C. 24 NEW OXFORD STREET W.C.1 Telephone: HOLborn 0605 26th August 1936. Sir Walter Citrine, K.B.E., National Council of Labour, Transport House, Smith Sq. S.W.1. Dear Sir Walter, Ambulance Unit I have to acknowledge with grateful thanks the receipt of cheque for £250. allocated by the International Solidarity Fund Committee for the maintenance of the unit. We are, of course, still using every endeavour to obtain more funds and I have arranged to meet Mr. Tewson to-morrow to discuss certain matters arising out of our appeals with him. I shall be glad to advise you periodically as to the accounts with which the committee is faced and the money which we have available to meet them, and I will also send you reports of the progress of the unit as I receive them. Lord Churchill spoke to me on the telephone to-day and he advised me that he is himself accompanying the unit to Spain in order that adequate contacts may be made and a proper base established. Yours sincerely, Charles Brook, Hon. Secretary. 292/946/41/173
