Summary: | A movie in the Margelatu' series, the Romanian version of "spaghetti westerns". Once again Margelatu' offers a helping hand to the cause of the 1848 revolutionaries, who intend to protect by any means the "moderate" ruler of Wallchia, Bibescu. A group of influential people ('sold to the foreign powers') are attempting to take over the government, while assassinating Bibescu on the way. The revolutionary organization, "Fratia", is supposed to be the scapegoat of such machinations. But of course, Margelatu' has his own plans, and ultimately saves the day. Black and white copy of a color film. One of the screenplay writers was Eugen Barbu, a prominent literary figure in communist times, and one of the initiators of the Romanian protochronist movement. |
