A group of influential people ('sold to the foreign powers') are attempting to take over the government, while assassinating Bibescu on the way. The revolutionary organization, "Fratia", is supposed to be the scapegoat of such machinations. But of course, Margelatu' has his own plans, and ultimately saves the day. One of the screenplay writers was Eugen Barbu, a prominent literary figure in communist times, and one of the initiators of the Romanian protochronist movement. |
