| Summary: | The film follows adventures of young tailor apprentice Istvan from Novi Sad during the Second World War. His desire to have sex with women at virtually any price leads him successfully through dangerous political and life-threatening war situations. Although most of his heroic deeds were accidents involving love affairs, he is perceived as a hero and receives a medal of honor and membership in the Communist Party. After the end of the war Istvan continues his lover’s practice even more freely and since he is attracted to all types of women (old, young, peasants, intellectuals, non-communist and fierce communists alike), the Party has to intervene in an attempt to straighten out his morals. Although his love towards women is stronger than his love for the Party, he manages to survive uninjured the Informbureau purge, again due to his passion for love. |
