Summary: | Verzio FF submission
More than 4 million illiterate German speakers are living in Germany, the home of poets and philosophers. What is life like for illiterate people? Which hurdles and problems do they have to master in their daily lives? How can it happen that people can't read and write despite attending compulsory school? The documentary, "There's no G in Box," observes three illiterate people for a year. They plucked up the courage to face the camera and to start a literacy course for adults. We learn about their problems, sorrows, hopes, and dreams. |
