Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Principal contributor(s): United Nations Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary Dezső Fónagy, member of a workers' council, made a statement. The committee asked him questions in connection with his trial, torture and imprisonment before the revolution and the events of the revolution he participated in. Witness C, electrical technician and student, was a member of the Postal Trade Union. He talked about the invasion of Soviet troops between 24 October and 22 November, the negotiations in the Parliament on 3 November, and the general Soviet attack on 4 November.
