Summary:Set in Belgrade in communist Yugoslavia in the late 1970s, the film focuses on a teenage love story between two youngsters who come from different backgrounds. Boba, a boy from a rural family and Marija who comes from an urban family, nevertheless fall deeply in love. Oblivious to the rest of the world, they spend every moment together, neglecting even their closest friends. Problems arise, however, when Marija gets pregnant, as Boba is the first to get scared. Inexperienced and frightened they try to keep the secret from their families and solve the problem in their own immature way by visiting a shady quack-doctor. Soon, this young couple are forced to mature before their time and cannot avoid a brush with crime. The film sparked one of the most popular Yugoslav film series, with as many as 10 sequels.
