Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. The letter attaches a list of names of the 322 Hungarian workers still in prison for their participation in the Hungarian uprising. It is addressed to the Secretary General urging him to do anything in his power to obtain the release of these imprisoned members of the Hungarian working class.
