Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Principal contributor(s): United Nations Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary István Török, member of the revolutionary council of Transdanubia, made a statement. The committee asked him about his negotiations with Imre Nagy, and the radio speeches by the Prime Minister. Witness L made a statement on the fighting he took part in. Witness M worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross during the revolution. He talked about his experiences regarding the behavior of Soviet troops in Budapest.
