| Summary: | Poisonous substances have been used in hunting and warfare since prehistoric times. This was no different in the twentieth century, either: people took advantage of the advances in organic chemistry by using poisonous gases on the battlefields, for example, in the interest of delivering a swift and effective blow to the enemy. These substances were then also used in the death camps. Technological developments eventually led to the invention of nuclear bomb, as well as to the space travel of the first astronaut. This extremely rapid scientific progress teaches caution to the countries of the socialist bloc, as NATO is in possession of these technologies and presumably will not hesitate to use them, if need be. Just as they did at the end of the Second World War.
A mérgezett fegyverek használata ősidők óta bevált módszer a vadászatnál és háborúskodásnál. A huszadik században sem volt ez másképp, az emberek a szerves kémia vívmányait, többek közt harci gázt vetettek be a gyors és hatékony csapás érdekében. Ezeket az eszközöket a haláltáborokban is felhasználták. A technikai fejlődés később az atombomba feltalálásához vezetett, majd az első asztronautát az űrbe juttatta. Ez a rendkívül gyors tudományos fejlődés óvatosságra inti a szocialista blokk országait, ugyanis az NATO birtokában van ezeknek az eszközöknek és vélhetően használja is azokat, ha a szükség ezt kívánja. Ahogy tették azt a második világháború végén. |
