Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Principal contributor(s): United Nations Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary Nine point demands for withdrawal of the Soviets; for free elections; for free press, for a new government to start functioning. To date, the United Nations has not fulfilled its duty because the declaration of Hungarian neutrality has not been dealt with and until this day, the United Nations has remained a passive spectator. It has tolerated the puppet government set up by foreign aggressors, imprisoning and executing ten of thousands of citizens. Appeal to the United Nations to prevent this situation from developing further.
