Summary: | An animated film based on thousands of drawings and paintings made by children while interned in Theresienstadt (Terezin), a German concentration camp. The film juxtaposes the drawings of children with documentary photos and uses animation techniques to make the drawings come alive. Through images and sounds the film raises the question of creativity and the influence of fear on the children. The major part of the film's soundtrack is the children's opera "Brundibar" (The Bumblebee), composed by Hans Krasa in Terezin.
