Summary:Records of this digital collection were assembled to document the work of the UN Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary established on January 10, 1957 by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of investigating the 1956 Hungarian revolution. Principal contributor(s): United Nations Special Committee on the Problem of Hungary Lajos Várfalvi continued his statement. Members of the committee asked him about the methods of the ÁVH. Further questions were adjourned to a later session in Geneva. Dénes Szalay, architect, president of the revolutionary council and member of a small fighting group in the 14th district in Budapest made a statement. József Értékes, "adjoint au commandant de la garde nationale" in Csepel, gave a statement about the October-November events and his short return to Hungary in 1957.
