Description
Summary:Verzio FF Submission Elaine is traveling to South Africa, leaving her elderly mother. Elaine is the filmmaker’s biological mother and she left home in order to support the family. She could do so only because Rebecca could look after her children. Rebecca worked for 10 years as a nursemaid and household help in the filmmaker’s house while her four children stayed at home with their grandmother. Rebecca is also traveling to her village to visit her children, who she has left to work in the city. The filmmaker accompanies them on their journeys in South Africa but also embarks on a journey of her own, trying to understand why neither of the two women was able to raise her own children. “Lullaby” is about the filmmaker’s two mothers.
