Description
Summary:Mrs. Zhang Xingfen lost her husband in an industrial accident. During her quest in search of justice from the central authorities in Beijing, she lost everything beginning with the evidence in her case, as well as her children, who were taken taken from her and placed in an orphanage, and her freedom, when she was locked up in a psychiatric institution. Her story illustrates that of many Chinese people appealing to higher authorities who travel to Beijing to assert their rights. In an insightful and shocking film, Liu Wei gives the floor to simple people, whose dramatic recollections portray a completely different side of China than the one we know from the media and tourist experiences.
