Summary: | The documentary shows that in 1985 Hungary was already experiencing the demise of the independent farmer because of large cooperatives. A problem endemic throughout the world by the late '90s is seen illustrated here in one group of six people. They acquire some cattle from a large state cooperative because the cooperative does not have the personnel to manage the cattle. Once the transfer has been effected, the six discover that they are given nothing else to take care of their new business: no fodder, no grazing land, and insufficient stables. |
