Summary:The first part of the tape contains the recording of a conference organized by Freedom House and co-hosted by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace held in October 1995. Moderator Adrian Karatnycky (Freedom House President) introduces the key speakers of the conference, including Jeane Kirkpatrick (former U.S. Ambassador to U.N.), George Soros (businessman, philanthropist, chairman of the Soros Foundation), and Bette Bao Lord (writer and human rights activist). The second part of the tape contains a program about the German Unification and it reviews the visits of the U.S. Presidents to Germany. It features an interview with Keith Olson (History Professor at the University of Maryland).
