Description
Summary:1927 1918-1939 "National Minority Movement - TUC circular, 1927" [T0130.jpg], 1927, Trades Union Congress This circular letter, signed by Walter Citrine, was sent to trades council secretaries in March 1927, stating that any trades councils associated with the National Minority Movement (NMM) would not be recognised by the TUC. Attached to the letter is a form to be signed by the trades council's officers declaring that it is not affiliated to or associated with the NMM in any way. The National Minority Movement was founded in 1924 on the initiative of the Communist Party of Great Britain. It co-ordinated committees of militant members of existing trade unions, organised on an industrial basis. The NMM aimed to revolutionise the policies and structures of trade unions by decreasing bureaucracy and overthrowing the existing leadership.
