Description
Summary:"In the years to come the flood of young workers onto the labour market in the EU will decline to a trickle. In view of this shortage the well trained and experienced older workers will become more and more indispensable. The crucial factor for the long-term employment of older workers, resulting from an increase in the statutory pensionable age, is the maintenance of their health. Workplace health promotion (WHP) is the method of choice when it comes to promoting and maintaining not only the employees' capacity to work but also their job satisfaction. Classified according to countries, the book outlines both planned and applied policies and describes concepts of stakeholders as well as examples of national projects and models of good practice relating to WHP. The collection of activities also contained in the book, in particular for employees in the second half of their working lives, not only represents a review of the current situation and an assessment of the progress of WHP in relation to older workers but also serves as a work of reference and guidebook for those affected, players and stakeholders. A CD-ROM with the entire text is enclosed with the book, supplemented by a description of the statutory regulations relating to this topic in the EU member states as well as a collection of sources of information."
