Description
Summary:1903 1903 1900s 3 pages In the interests of public prospects, as well as of the Hospital itself I consider it my duty as a member of the Board, to remonstrate against this apparent mis-use of this particular Department. If a careful analysis were made of these 22929 cases treated there last year it would be found that a very considerable proportion of these could not, by any effort of imagination, be properly described either as "accidents" or "emergencies" which alone should be treated at the Gate. I hold that indiscriminate relief is an abuse of this Charity, and tends towards justification of the complaints regarding Hospital Management which are daily gaining ground. G.F.
