Description
Summary:1948-06 1948 1940s 3 pages : illustrations character, is one that the present Government will use every endeavour to prevent — as it can be prevented if wise action is taken." That is the velvet paw; now for the ruthless claws. In a volume of essays called "Problems of a Socialist Government" we learn that: "The Government would be justified in over-riding any obstruction it found placed in its way... It would probably be better and more conducive to the general peace and welfare of the country for the Socialist Government to make itself temporarily into a dictatorship until the matter could again be put to the test at the polls." The leopard does not change his spots, nor the Ethiopian his skin. "Plus ca change, plus ce'st ta même chose." AND THEY MEANT IT "The conquest of power by the proletariat does not mean peacefully 'capturing' the ready-made bourgeois State machinery by means of a parliamentary majority ... The conquest of power by the proletariat is the violent overthrow of bourgeois power, the destruction of the capitalist State apparatus (bourgeois armies, police, bureaucratic hierachy [hierarchy], the judiciary, parliaments, etc.), and the substitution in its place of new organs of proletarian power, to serve primarily as instruments for the suppression of the exploiters." (From the statutes of the Communist International, 1932) THE SOVIET MIND "It simply is not true to say that offences of this kind (petrol) are offences against the Government except indeed in the sense that the Government is the embodiment of the State and represents the community." (Sir Hartley Shawcross, House of Commons, 10.5.48). This is the theory by which Nazis and Communists rid themselves of independent judges and permanent known law. [Picture] Above is a photograph of a device on a poster used to attract young people to a Communist meeting at the Small Library Hall, Bermondsey, on 15-2-48. THEIR WAR IS UNIVERSAL COMMUNISM Mr. McGovern, Socialist M.P. for Shettleston, Glasgow, said at Manchester on 18th April: "Russia has its tentacles in every factory in this land. The shop steward movement is mostly run by Communists. They pass on what knowledge they gain to party leaders, and it goes to Russia. Russia has a complete dossier of every factory." (Daily Express) THE CAUSE IS BEYOND POLITICS In the House of Lords on 5th May, the Archbishop of York said: "that the human rights which he believed should be recognised and protected were:— Legal status and personal liberty of the individual, which included protection from arbitrary arrest, slavery, and torture; economic and social rights — such as the rights to work, to marriage and family life, and to education, freedom of expression for individuals and communities, covering freedom of speech, discussion, and the Press; and freedom of religion." IT HAPPENED HERE The Ministry of Works ordered Watertight Structures Ltd. to send them all their 1946 records. They did so. The Board of Trade ordered the firm to provide a census of production from their 1946 records. "Works" refused to return the records, so "Trade" prosecuted the firm for failing to provide the census. At Slough on 9.4.48 the case was dismissed. Our courts stand for justice against tyranny. Page Three 292/860/1/55
