FOREWORD The memorandum which follows is based on discussions by a group of members of the Labour Party particularly interested in public health. It is not in any way a statement of official Labour Party policy, and has not been examined or approved by the Labour Party as such. It is felt very desirable however, to develop interest in public health problems, and it is hoped that the memorandum will provide a useful basis for discussion. Dr. Somerville Hastings has been responsible for the actual drafting, and amongst those who have assisted are Mr. J. Bacon, Mr. G. P. Blizzard, Dr. C. Parker, and Dr. A. Salter, M.P.
