Description
Summary:1932 1932 1930s 86 pages : illustrations The children have derived much benefit from treatment received, and the work of the Surgeon and After-Care Sister is much appreciated. The interest evinced by the many friends of the Clinic shows no sign of waning, and very many thanks are due to them for their kindly thought and practical help in so many ways. M. WORDEN, Hon. Sec. SOUTH-WESTERN ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC (AT PLYMOUTH). The South-Western Clinic began at the Mutley Assembly Rooms with a Surgeon's afternoon on July 11th. It has carried on every Monday since then with the exception of August and Boxing Day Bank Holidays. We have had three Committee meetings since the commencement of the Clinic ; the last one was much better attended than either of the others, and certainly more interest is being shown in the work of the Clinic. It was decided that the Chairman should write to all the members of the Standing Committee, suggesting that the sum of 5/- a year should be raised and given by each member. This, with the possible help of an occasional concert, will, we hope, bring us in necessary funds. Teas were started at the Clinic in November. A cup of tea and two biscuits cost 1d. We owe a good deal to the kindness and interest of the Manager and his wife at the Mutley Assembly Rooms, who are both always ready to help in any way in their power. A. DAUKES, Hon. Sec. TIVERTON ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC. The year 1932 has seen a great increase in the work of this Clinic, although owing to a slack period at the beginning of the year the annual attendance has only increased by about 100. The autumn has been a busy and interesting time, with much plaster work and some very encouraging cases discharged from the Hospital. More than double the number of cases have been admitted to the Hospital this year than were last year. Our work has grown at both ends, the number brought as infants for early treatment showing a gratifying increase, while a new feature is the large increase in adults attending. 29 292/841.51/2/2
