Description
Summary:1937 1937 1930s 13 pages 2. Why is it that you as Minister of Health have not been to see or sent a representative to an institution which has been treating the public for two years and getting results when other treatments have failed? (You have been invited more than once). 3. Why when in the interests of our patients we wish to co-operate with the general hospitals or registered doctors is it made impossibte for us to do so? This increases our expense and the patients'. (A few words from you would alter this unreasonable attitude). 4. Why are people who have been given up as incurable by the registered medical profession, and who have since been cured outside that profession, forced when they return to work to be insured through the N.H.I. when they can never receive any medical benefit from it? 5. Why are students and fully qualified medical men forbidden to co-operate with us or study our methods? We understand from registered medical men that the General Medical Council forbids this co-operation whenever it is suggested. This is a very serious thing from the point of view of the advancement of knowledge and the relief of suffering. A few words from your department would give those wishing to study our methods the courage to do so. 6. Why has the Government ignored the great spread of the various methods of unregistered practice, when it must be fully aware that this has created a danger from which the public have a right to be protected. We shall be more than grateful if you will inform us as to the correct answers to these questions as you will appreciate they cover a field far wider than this institution and touch upon points of National importance. You and the members of the staff here have given your lives to work for the same goal. Therefore there should be active co-operation between the two bodies, if for any reason we are unworthy of this co-operation then it is your duty in the interests of public health to see we are wiped right off the map. Thanking you, Yours faithfully, * The date of the meeting had to be changed from September 2nd to September 29th. 5 292/842/2/237
