Description
Summary:1946-05-24 1946 1940s 6 pages -6- clinic service is sufficiently developed. APPLIANCES (Section 44 and Summary page 4) It is essential that appliances should be provided both for restoration and maintenance of health and for rehabilitation. In this connection we should like to have further information as to the appliances which are to be made available, and in particular the position regarding prevision of artificial limbs. DRUGS (Section 38 and Summary page 12) Executive Councils are required to make arrangements for the supply of drugs in their area. Patients will be able to obtain drugs on their doctor's prescription either from a pharmacist or from a dispensing Health Centre, as the patient chooses. Drugs, medicines and appliances required for hospital purposes will be supplied as part of the hospital service. REHABILITATION We attach the utmost importance to a comprehensive and first class rehabilitation service. We consider that insufficient provision is made in the Bill, and would like to have further information as to the proposals for this important service. CRD/EM/24.5.46. 292/847/4/159
