Description
Summary:042-0143-001 WMC/WJB/AC/731 International 13th May, 1937. Mr. A. Naesmith, Amalgamated Weavers' Association, Ewbank Chambers, 19, St. James St., ACCRINGTON. Dear Mr. Naesmith, INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FUND: FIELD AMBULANCE. With further reference to your letter of 3rd April, we have now received from Mr. Schevenels, the photographs of the ambulance which was purchased by the grant which your General Council was good enough to make to the International Solidarity Fund. Mr. Schevenels informs us that the money your Council sent to us not only enabled them to purchase the ambulance, but a considerable amount of equipment, stretchers, etc., in addition. On behalf of the General Council of the Trades Union Congress and the Joint Committee of the International Solidarity Fund, I wish again to extend our thanks for this practical expression of international solidarity shown by your Council. Yours faithfully, General Secretary. 3 photographs. 292/946/42/143
