HVT/FC/EW/249 Secretary's 23rd August, 1937. Mr. R.S. Wood, 5, Kingsbridge Road, Parkstone, Dorset. Dear Mr. Wood, Evacuation of Refugees from Santander. Many thanks for your letter which arrived this morning. Whilst we are not directly associated with the National Joint Committee for Spain Relief (we are, however, co-operating with the National Committee for the care of Basque Children) I understand that some effort is being made tin regard to the evacuation of refugees from Santander, although they will not be coming to this country, I will gladly pass your letter to the National Joint Committee, and I am sure they will very greatly appreciate your kind offer in the event of expense being entailed in their project. Your sincerely, Assistant Secretary.
