Description
Summary:037-0079-001 Your Ref: EHP/MLB. Our Ref: WMC/FC/EK/1301. 19th July, 1937. Mr. E.H. Parker, Bristol Trades and Labour Council, 1, Bristol Bridge, BRISTOL, 1. Dear Mr. Parker, "SAVE THE BASQUE CHILDREN" FUND. I thank you for your letter of the 16th instant pointing out that Bristol has now taken fifty girls from Southampton and have made themselves responsible, with the Lord Mayor of Bristol and Town representatives to keep the girls for one year at an estimated all-in cost of £2,000. The action which your Council has taken is very much appreciated and we realise that under the circumstances it will not be possible for your Council to respond to our further appeal. Yours sincerely, Joint Secretary. 292/946/37/79
