Description
Summary:039-0115-001 Telegraphic Address: TRADUNIC, SOWEST, LONDON Telephone: VICTORIA 6261 (4 LINES) THE TRADES UNION CONGRESS GENERAL COUNCIL General Secretary: SIR WALTER CITRINE, K.B.E. Your Ref: Our Ref: WMC/HVT/EK/831. Department: Secretary's. TRANSPORT HOUSE, SMITH SQUARE, LONDON, S.W.1. "SAVE THE BASQUE CHILDREN". We greatly appreciate the offer made in your letter in regard to the above subject. The final scheme has not yet been concluded, but there is a general opinion that it would be advisable in the early stages for the children to be kept together in homes and camps in order to minimize the great break which they will feel. It is possible that subsequently we shall desire to take advantage of the many kind offers which have been made, and we will certainly keep your letter on our records. If you carefully watch the columns of the "Daily Herald" you will see from time to time how the plans are progressing. Again thanking you, Yours sincerely, General Secretary. 292/946/39/115
