Discussion took place on the procedure to be followed in the debate on Spain the following day. The Secretary suggested that the Council should recommend a suspension of Standing Orders to remove the time limit on speeches in the same way as was done on the Abyssinian question the previous year. That was adopted. IT WAS DECIDED that the Secretary should make an opening statement on behalf of the General Council, and Mr. Bevin should intervene before the vote was taken. NATIONAL AMALGAMATED FURNISHING TRADES ASSOCN. EMERGENCY RESOLUTION ON SPAIN. IT WAS DECIDED to recommend to Standing Orders that this be taken as an amendment to the General Council's resolution. the meeting then ADJOURNED. 292/946/10/106(ii)
