Description
Summary:012a-0065-001 Secretary's. WMC/FP/480 3rd August, 1938. Committee of Liaison of the Local Federations of Barcelona, C.N.T., U.G.T., Agrupaciones Femeninas C.N.T.-U.G.T., de las Industrias Siderometalurgicas, Rambla del Centro no. 35, 3o piso, BARCELONA. Dear Comrades, Visit of British Women to Spain. Your letter dated 16th July, reached here yesterday, 2nd August, and I must hasten to thank you for the warm fraternal sentiments which it contains. The amazing spirit of fortitude and courage which has animated the Spanish people in the splendid resistance which they have displayed against the forces of reaction and Fascism, is reflected in the admirable sentiments of your letter. Your request that a delegation of British women should visit Spain and see for themselves the tragedy which is confronting the Spanish people, will be placed before the General Council of the Trades Union Congress at its next meeting, after which I shall communicate with you again. With fraternal greetings, Yours sincerely, General Secretary. 292/946/12a/65
