Description
Summary:013-0003-001 Foreign Office, S.W.1 22nd December, 1942. Confidential Dear Citrine On December 11th you wrote to me about the case of Senor José Rodriguez Vega. This matter has now been considered by the Cabinet. As you know, Senor Vega has been planning to go to Mexico, where his family is, and the Cabinet's opinion was that, in view of the importance of getting him out of Lisbon at once and of the fact that the six services are irregular and passages not easy to come by, the best course would be for him to adhere to his present plans. This means that he should take the first available clipper passage to America, and not come to the U.K. first. Once he has got to Mexico and seen his family, His Majesty's Government would certainly be prepared to consider the question of making arrangements for him to come here. Yours sincerely Anthony Eden The Right Honourable Sir Walter Citrine, K.B.E. 292/946/13/3
