Description
Summary:027-0021-001 Euzkadi Ordezkaritza Basque Delegation, 14, Eccleston Square, London, S.W.1. TEL: VICTORIA 0926. 22nd April, 1940. Dear Mr. Tewson, Jesus and Julian Hickman Urrutia I have had a talk with my friends regarding the points raised in your letter of the 19th and am satisfied that they are fully qualified draughtsmen. I think that all your questions are covered by the fact that in Bilbao they both worked for the Altos Hornos de Vizcaya Company, the references from whom are enclosed. This Company is the biggest concern in the Peninsular for all iron and steel construction, furnaces, bridges, cranes, locomotives etc., their capital being £50,000,000. In these circumstance, I feel that you may rest assured that these two men are competent to undertake any of the work mentioned in your letter. As I have already pointed out, they are both British subjects, although one of them knows no English, but the other is now studying very hard. Hoping that you will continue to do everything possible on behalf of my friends, Believe me, Yours very sincerely, Jose I. de Lizaso H. V. Tewson, Esq.
