Cable Codes: A.B.C 6th and 7th editions; Western UNION 5 Letter; Bentley complete phrase; Bentley second phrase; A.1. Marconi, and private. Our reference EXPORT/ST/MM.9165. Your reference 17th June, 1937. The Trades Union Congress General Council, Transport House, Smith Square, LONDON. SW.1. Dear Sirs, We beg to refer to your order of 10th June in respect of Foodstuffs for shipment by s.s. SIL from London to Gijon to be consigned to Tomas, Miners' Union, Gijon. We shall be glad to have your instructions regarding insuring this consignment as to-day's premium is £4.0.0d. per cent, but is given, of course, subject to fluctuations. For your information, we have now received from Messrs J. A. Billmeir advice to the effect that the s.s. SIL will arrive in London on 20th instant, but unfortunately, they do not mention the sailing date, which they assume, cannot be before the middle of next week. We propose to have Bill of Lading made out in duplicate in the name of Tomas, Miners' Union, Gijon, first original to go forward by carrying steamer, and stamped copy to be sent from here by ordinary mail. If, however, you have any other instructions in regard to the handling of these documents, we shall be glad to hear from you by return. Meanwhile, we remain, Yours faithfully, J. Thompson Export Department. P S. The desired information re insurance, was received by teleprinter through the medium of our London Branch.
