Description
Summary:029-0089-001 WMC/WJP/AC/228 International 29th November, 1937. Mr. W. Schevenels, International Federation of Trade Unions, 9, avenue D'Orsay, PARIS VIIe Dear Mr. Schevenels, INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY FUND. I have today received news that there is a very grave shortage of food in Barcelona, that only 100 grammes of bread per day per person can be allowed, and that there is no milk or sugar or soap. Indeed, the situation is so serious that it is being suggested that there should be a commission of relief appointed by the various Governments. I should be glad to hear from you whether the facts as given to me are in accord with the information you possess, also to learn what the present state of the International Solidarity Fund (Spanish workers' section) is. Yours faithfully, General Secretary. 292/946/29/89
