Description
Summary:030-0033-001 Spanish Embassy, Commercial Office. 21, CAVENDISH SQUARE, LONDON, W.1. TELEPHONE, LANGHAM 3671. TELEGRAMS:"OFCOMES" LONDON. G.S. 12th. October 1938. Your Ref: International HVT/EAB/AT/21 Sir Walter Citrine, K.B.E., Trades Union Congress, Transport House, Smith Square, London S.W.1. Dear Sir, Scottish Trade Union Food Ship I am in receipt of your letter of 11th. instant and thank you for the details you give me regarding the shipment from Glasgow to Valencia by the s.s. 'Stangate". I also note that you have consigned the cargo to Mr. José Castre. In this connection, I wish to confirm my previous remarks regarding the advisability of consigning all shipments to the Comité Nacional de Ayuda a España, for delivery to your representative at the port of destination. This will facilitate the customs formalities and will ensure the rapid transport of the goods as well as the payment of the transport expenses to the Shipping company. Your remarks regarding a consignment for Barcelona are noted, and I await your further news with interest. Yours sincerely, Daniel Fernández- Shaw. 292/946/30/33
